Greetings,

	At the 1995 Worldwide Developer's Conference, we presented a session on 

the QuickTake 150 Digital Camera, and the development effort needed to 
create or modify applications, OpenDoc parts, plug-ins, etc. for 
QuickTake support.  During our question and answer section of the 
presentation, developers asked me if it would be possible to distribute 
the QuickTake SDK as part of the Mac OS SDK.

It seemed like a very reasonable request, so I would like to announce 
that the entire QuickTake SDK is now available on this version of the Mac 

OS SDK.  This SDK will support the QuickTake 150 or QuickTake 100.  The 
team and myself understand your concerns for receiving information on 
Apple technologies in a consistent and timely manner.

I have also included Acrobat files of the QuickTake 150 data sheet and 
image samples so that you can better understand QuickTake and its 
potential for Apple, yourself, and our customers.  I appreciate your 
input and enthusiasm for QuickTake.

The QuickTake 150 software components are in the form of two APIsÑa 
QuickTake 150 camera device driver and an Image Processing Module (IPM). 

The APIs support application development for either Apple Macintosh 
computers or computers capable of running Microsoft Windows.

The software as described in the documentation provides control services 

for the QuickTake 150 and QuickTake 100 digital cameras. The camera 
control software is provided as a device driver and associated glue files 

for Macintosh computers and as a dynamic link library (DLL) for computer 

running Windows. The function names used for the QuickTake 150 driver 
interface and the QuickTake 150 DLL interface are identical for both the 

Macintosh and Windows platforms. The API for the Image Processing Module 

strictly applies to the Windows platform.

QuickTake camera image processing is performed by a QuickTime 
decompressor component on the Macintosh computer and by a dynamic link 
library for Microsoft Windows applications.
